The creative brainstorming in these Project Clinics is always fun because you never quite know where it will lead.
Today’s session built on top of separate conversations in preparation for RootsTech and other Project Recipe events. Mentioned were
The 5-generation family history cookbook Kerri Kearney put together for her daughter. Here’s the link if you missed it: Projectkin.org/5-gen
Last year’s Scavenger Hunt for Ancestors, a fabulous series of family history mini-projects rolled into a scavenger hunt as presented by memberAnna Scheutz.
An idea for engaging grandchildren led memberMarci Keats Rudolph to play with using an off-the-shelf web apps like BingoBaker or Quizlet to create fun challenges tied in with genealogy facts and family history stories. We talked about an article or maybe even event highlighting ways to use apps like this. (Have suggestions? Drop them in comments 👇)
New Projectkin Member and our first speaker at next week’s RootsTech Project Party, Karla VF Staudt, shared some expected insights about how she’s using WeAre.xyz for her family archive.
You can hear about all of these by watching the video or exploring the links. (And really, nobody’s feelings are hurt if you just want to fast forward through it by searching and tapping your way to the good parts in the transcript.)
As our very own Kathy Stone, (of Kathy’s Cornerstone to Projectkin) has put it,…“Don’t wait to get to the good part.” Join her program Thursday to focus on the mechanics of getting these projects done.
If it’s somehow possible you’ve missed it 🤭, next week is RootsTech, the largest family history conference on the planet. If last year’s numbers are to be believed, then there could be nearly 3M more people attending online than in person. Hey, that’s us!
That’s so big, we decided to have a Project Party 🎉 for the occasion. Join us, won’t you?
AND, if you’ve missed the insider tip, there’s still a chance to join in on our Members’ Corner to be launched at RootsTech. Due day for guest author submissions is Thursday Feb 22 (11:59 pm Pacific time). Miss this one, that’s okay, there will be another cohort of writers featured next month!
