Project Clinic | Atlantic » Creative Brainstorming

2024-Jan.-17 | In our first event of the year a few of us came together to talk about what we've been working on and get inspired.

What starts as a mess of ideas can turn into a brilliant bit of storytelling. It’s an objective we’re all after, but it can seem formidable from the deep end of the mess.

As Projectkin, we’re all here to help each other with parallel goals. The inspiration of one can lead to insight for another. The free-flowing conversation in these Projectkin Clinics creates the opportunity for these kinds of ideas to be passed around.

In today’s session, we covered a range of ideas, but there were consistent themes around:

  • The importance of local genealogy and historical society libraries and their resources.

  • Oral histories and how they can inform family history work.

  • Creative new ways to capture stories, such as from the archives of mobile phone chat threads.

We have another Project Clinic next week timed for the convenience of our Pacific members. The tickets are free, of course. Join us, won’t you?
