Project Clinic | Pacific » Creative Brainstorming

2024-Jan.-23 | With the new year here, sharing what we've been working on, what we've been challenged by, and getting inspired.

Every one of these Project Clinics events has its own character. Today we enjoyed a conversation that stretched across the English speaking world from Nova Scotia to Western Australia. We had the time to explore projects we were working on as well as ideas we were wrestling with.

A few topics we covered:

Based on the expertise in this group I collected some fun ideas for future Project Recipe and Tutorial events:

  • How to self-publish a book (Tip: Watch for February’s Project Recipe event with

’s “A Family Cookbook Spanning Five Generations”)

  • Memorial biographies and Order of Service materials… there’s something very interesting here with the potential for new forms of pocket stories. This is an area

    is just starting to explore.

  • Easy tools today for creating videos — and how to rope in grandchildren and other extended family members, something a very horse

is interested in exploring, perhaps in time for a how-to Video tutorial. 🤔

  • Using modern archiving tools to “scrapbook” a story:

shared her “Jenealogy Scrapbook” created using WeAre.xyz

The conversation lingered, so we can take more of it into chat when I share this recording. Below is the chat transcript:

With a lot of events bunched together during January, I wanted to be a little gentle on your inbox so I didn’t circulate the recording of our Atlantic Project Clinic as I might have. Instead I’m adding it here in the context of our Pacific program this week.

If you’re in need of a little inspiration, you can watch both of these recordings back-to-back 😉. Notice that all recordings for each section are available as soon as they’re on line from that section list at right. Tap that and you’ll see all recordings for the Project Clinics section.

But wait, there’s more this week!

In just under 48 hours we’ll be hosting the first of Kathy’s Corner events for the year.

Tix for Kathy's Corner

As our modest little community has seen a flurry of activity growing over 30% this last month. That means that many of you joining are entirely new to all this and have your own set of interests and expectations. I’m thrilled to have you. If you don’t mind, I’ll be reaching out a bit more to ask questions to make sure I know what interests you and how we can be helpful.

Right now, I’m focused on putting together some special free online programming coincident with the genealogy conference RootsTech.org scheduled for Feb 29 to Mar 2, so I have one simple question:
