It was a privilege to start this extraordinary series of live programs in our celebration of the “All About That Place” series organized by the Society of Genealogists, the Society for One-Place Studies, the British Association for Local History, and Genealogy Stories and sponsored by dozens of companies and organizations.

We’ve presented this program live to introduce communities on this Pacific side of the planet to wonderful history projects focused on one place. We love the concept of exploring places—and migrations between places—as a way of studying and telling stories about family history.

Annette Burke Lyttle, the Heritage Detective
  • Annette is a Certified Genealogist® who loves helping folks uncover and share their family stories. As the Heritage Detective, Annette provides professional genealogical services in research, education, and writing. She also speaks on various genealogical topics at the national, state, and local levels and loves helping people uncover and share their family stories. 

    You may run into Annette as a course coordinator for the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy and the British Institute. She is a published writer whose research interests include Quaker ancestors and ancestral migrations in the US, with more than a half-dozen of her webinars accessible right now through FamilyTreeWebinars.

    Annette is past president of the Association of Professional Genealogists and editor of The Florida Genealogist.
