“Why Study One Place?” with Simon Davies of WeAre.xyz

In the first of our #AATP24, “All About That Place” series, we've asked Simon Davies of WeAre.xyz to share his insight and perspective into one-place studies.

What a delight to kick off our Projectkin “All About That Place” series with

sharing new insights into the study of a single place. You’ve probably already heard about our involvement with this incredible organized by the Society of Genealogists, the Society for One-Place Studies, the British Association for Local History, and Genealogy Stories and sponsored by dozens of companies and organizations — including Simon’s company, WeAre.xyz.

In examples and demonstrations, Simon shared how exploring places can bring stories to life. In some of the very first public views of a new set of One-Place Study (OPS) features of WeAre.xyz, Simon demonstrated connections in maps, photographs, drone videos and more as a way to explore a place.

Explore the sidebar conversations started during Simon’s talk below in the Substack Live Chat. Feel free to join us:

We’ll experiment with this form of chat with this series of programs. To participate, you will need a Substack account, though it’s completely free, as are all aspects of the Projectkin community. If you’re new here, learn more about us at Projectkin.org/about.

By subscribing, you’ll get this and all recordings from Projectkin delivered directly to your inbox.
