This Tutorial session came about after our first Project Recipe involving a Canva whiteboard, “Two Ways” presented in September 2023 and reprised in November with a new project and gift examples.
Canva’s implementation builds on existing products in the category of online whiteboards with products like Miro and Mural. What’s compelling to family historians is their approach that combines it with graphic design tools and a compelling price point for consumers. This was originally covered for the Projectkin community in a blog post Canva Whiteboards and Family History Storytelling.
This presentation walks through features at a conceptual level and shares a few important tricks that can unlock the power of it for you a little more quickly.
While Canva's help system doesn't focus explicitly on whiteboards, it does guide you through the mechanics of their basic graphic design tools. The consistent graphic design UI across the entire Canva platform can be very helpful.
