If you saw last year’s talk, you might have already expected something a little different.

That conversation about place started with artlyn’s description and discussion of midwifery practices and the wisdom found her grandmother Naynee’s garden. artlyn’s talk was followed by Edward Swierczewski’s discussion of the extraordinary cemeteries of New York and the region around it. The juxtaposition of the two land-centered topics inspired a delightful discussion in the minutes that followed.

I met my cousin artlyn three years ago in 2022. We were both attending a six-week workshop on digital storytelling taught at StoryCenter.org. In later conversations, we found this shared interest in family history and even learned that we were cousins through a Trueblood connection. There’s always a connection, eh?

About AATP25

As we conclude the “All About That Place” series for 2025, I’ve asked

She joined Projectkin in 2023 for a creative project recipe about using family history to engage elders struggling with dementia. In this last program in this series, I’ve asked Jude to join us in her capacity representing the British Association for Local History (BALH) to talk about the series as a whole and where we go from here. I hope you can join us.
