Well... with all that support and a glance at the overnight stats, I'd have to say this is an acceptable idea. To celebrate, I've just added the Projectkin Substack Live program, which I host each Sunday/Monday at Projectkin.org/chat-time. 🎉 Now on all four Podcasting services, too.

That was easy. ✅

THANKS for this creative repurposing of genealogy content - meeting people using the device/method of choice. I missed out on the live events.

You KNOW I love the idea of creative re-use... At some point I'll share the cathedral I made for my cats out of old cardboard boxes. "Sagrada Felinus" (A hat-tip, of course to the Sagrada Familia... hey, it was Christmas.)

Is there any way for YouTube podcasts to be downloaded?

🤔 I haven't used the YouTube podcasting app much myself. I've uploaded the RSS feeds to YouTube's podcasting section (as I'm guessing you've discovered) here: https://www.youtube.com/@projectkin/podcasts.

If you can't download there, then you might want to try a different method like Substack's own app? My impression is that you can download them from there into your Substack app, no? See https://projectkin.substack.com/s/recipes, for example, and tap on the "Substack" button. Does that work?

Thanks Barbara. As far as I can see ... But happy to be corrected ... It is possible to download from YouTube but it's a paid service. I can access it in the Substack app but only if online. That's not a problem if I am out for a daily walk (and on Wifi at home most of the time) because I don't mind using mobile data when I am out and about. However, when travelling away from home for a period of time, I need to conserve mobile data to some extent because it is all I have access to most of the time. In these circumstances being able to download a few podcasted talks would be really great. However, I guess I can't expect everything to be free!!

If you have an iPhone, apples podcast service should work, or… do you have a preferred service? I’ll see if I can’t hook it up. Seriously, that was the point of starting with just three. I’d like to know what’s best for you. Once done, I don’t have to fool with it again… easy-peasy.

I have an android phone. I haven't used a podcasting service for a while. In the past I have used Google podcasts but it discontinued those.

That's a great tip, Jane. I'll start researching the best podcasting service for Android devices. I'm going to guess we have more than a few out there in our community.

Hello? Is this thing on? 🎤

What's the best (and easiest) podcasting service for Android devices?
