Listen now | This presentation builds on an earlier project exploration about whether my ancestors had met the extraordinary Marquis de Lafayette on his American Tour from August 1824 to September 1825.
Thank you for the introduction to this timeline tool. (And thanks to the Knight Lab for developing this as an open source tool.) I can see the utility immediately and now I have to think about something small that I can manage and learn how to use it.
Please don’t hesitate to ask if I can be at all helpful. After months and months of this, I pretty much have the hang of it. No reason you should waste time in the same learning curve.
...and I shared the video and tool with @Diane Burley and she's interested too. I'll be in touch to set something up in May. Appreciate knowing about this timeline tool the more I learn about it.
As I said in the recording, I thought this was wonderful. I've had a bit of a timeline addiction over the years and I can see this could add to it. I was planning to dive in today, but I've been down a Lafayette rabbi hole. Also for a while today I sat down with a book, and the town of Lafayette was mentioned. Spooky!
Fascinating project! A favorite intriguing historical person. I learned and laughed (fur lined rabbit hole and geezer your are enough to make one snort one's drink).
Oh yes, that one’s a adopted phrase taught to me by a learned one at the American Friends of Lafayette 🤣😂😅 I’ve missed you! Reach out, let’s reconnect over a virtual 🍷
A wonderful example of the use of a timeline. In my current series of blog posts for the A-Z April Challenge I had prepared a timeline using this tool to illustrate events in April across the years using details of events from both my own and my husband’s family histories. It is due to be published on T for Timelines on April 23. It is very simple compared to your example. You have provided some extra ideas. Thank you.

All part of my secret plan! 🕳️🐇 … lol
