In case you missed it, a recording of today's Substack Live program. During this quiet week for Projectkin I had the opportunity to catch up with Jane Hutcheon to talk about her “Forget-me-not” series
Hi Barb, thanks for the introduction to Livestream Chat. It’s a chance to tease out threads and ‘riff’ which is always fun. Riffing is an important step before I settle on a good idea. When I spoke about trying to be ‘lateral’ with the concept of how we memorialise, it’s having the freedom to explore. It’s probably why I try to minimise the ‘statistics’ of views, likes etc. For me it’s about 1) is it a good idea? 2) a good idea for what? 3) What do I want to do next with the idea? Thank you for allowing this space and this platform to explore. 😍
Truly, I think creativity requires the freedom to explore, make mistakes, and feel your way around. There's so much learning as the mind find patterns in play. It's hard to measure the effectiveness of play with statistics. 😉
Thanks, Barb, for hosting these short sessions. This was my first chance to join. I think it's a great way to begin the week.
Aw, thank you so much! I think I just saw you join in on today's program. I truly appreciate the encouragement.
I'm enjoying these. Hope to catch the next one live.
Oh, I’m so glad! Thank you. t’s a simple idea but they are fun to do.

“Riff, and be lateral.” It's a brilliant concept!

I'm reminded of the 1968 animated short documentary by Saul Bass, “Why Man Creates.” Remarkably, it's on YouTube now: https://youtu.be/lT2mqA6UYDw?si=MApREl8Q49gX7SLR Enjoy.
