It occurs to me that something kin to this Pacific Edition would be interesting to those of us tied to Acadians from Nova Scotia. Just putting a thought out there...not sure what to do with that.

I’m listening… is it the time zone? If I’m not mistaken, midnight in London I 8 pm in Nova Scotia… A little late in the evening, but not outrageous. It’s also 8 am in eastern Australia (depending on standard v summer time).

Maybe I don't understand "One Place"...I was thinking that after the genocide of 1755, Acadians were scattered hither and yon, and some returned or managed to hide out until the war ended in Acadie/Nova Scotia. Acadians don't have a geographic homeland but we/they do have a "one place" that threads the generations -- a place that is Acadie/Acadia but is an intangible. I've taken to joking that Acadie/Acadia is a place you can visit that doesn't exist.

I think I might understand a bit better...you've started something for people interested in the Pacific coast of the US, right?

Ah... I see the confusion. Forgive me. Two things:

1. Yes, I would be honored to help gain visibility to stories about the Acadians in Nova Scotia. I've closed the window for my specific "cohort" of articles in parallel to the "All About That Place" series sponsored by the UK-based Society of Genealogists. This is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping to support, encourage, and celebrate. I'm sorry I didn't reach you sooner, but no worries, I do these cohorts more-or-less monthly. My next window closes on October 21 for articles I'll begin to publish at the end of October. More about how that all works at Projectkin.org/join-mc 🤦‍♀️ Forgive me for not figuring out what you were referring to.

2. Well, yes, "Pacific" is in part referring to the US Pacific coast (where I happen to be based in Berkeley, California.) I actually use the term more generally in that since I'm based here, I can support events that occur either on times of convenience to folks on either East or Western sides of the Atlantic Ocean (I call that "Atlantic Editions" or on either the Eastern or Western sides of the Pacific Ocean, (and THIS is what I mean by "Pacific Edition.") I host Pacific events at 4 PM PT, 7 PM ET, 9 AM AEST, 7 AM AWST, and 12 AM BST and Atlantic events at 10 AM PT, 1 PM ET, 6 PM BST, 19:00 CET.

Whew! All perfectly understandable misunderstandings. I'm delighted to have you in our orbit and look forward to your participation.
