Kathy builds on her “8 Steps to Take You from Tubs of Photos to Tales of Yore,” to look at how to handle the meaningful “stuff”—memorabilia, keepsakes, ephemera, and trinkets—in our lives.
That is a really good point - to have the record but also for insurance purposes. Going through photos from the 1980's (40 + years ago Ack!) to sort, cull and digitize, I found a bunch of photos of the insides of kitchen drawers and cupboards, shelves of records and CD's, linen closet etc. from my apartment in Rigaud, Quebec, Canada where I lived for 5 years. Took me a moment, then realized those were my insurance photos lol
I love the idea of taking photos of the items. We can literally have a catalog of our life’s history in our hands at all times!
Exactly! And sometimes, these things breaks so… it’s useful to have a record. oh yes, and insurance!

Sentimental, huh?
Curious to look further and see what I still have :)
It can make downsizing much easier - keep the memory and story, and easier to let go of the stuff - particularly Kitchy stuff (like my pet rock...)
I just found my kids' Furby and Tamagotchi in the garage... 😉
Thanks for some great tips
