Projectkin is thrilled to partner with the UK Society of Genealogists to extend the family and local history event of the year to the Pacific with five, hour-long live events from 27-Sept to 6-Oct 2024! Learn more and submit your proposal here.
Well, here’s the thing, looking out from London the whole of the Americas is to the West. Include Bucks County and how “place” or even migrations figured into your genealogy research and you’ve got a talk!
I have a One Place Study and attended the first All About That Place last year. It was a wonderful conference and I learnt so much . Looking forward to it this year.
Wasn't it smashing? Please consider joining us for our Pacific Edition this year and help us get the word out in Australia. I think it'll be fascinating. Thank you again for your wonderful contribution about Earl Grey girls to our Members’ Corner. It was a great example of local history I would have known nothing about were it not for your article. projectkin.substack.com/p/famine-and-the-earl-grey-girl-in
Well, exactly! So our families were migrants, the decisions they made for everything related to options available in the new place they called home. Another angle is to consider the ways in which migrant families brought their cultural history with them. Here in the Americas, we've benefited from the contributions of so many different cultures. That rich mixing of place created amazing foods, music, and art forms.
How wonderful! I wonder if I can change my "Using Maps in Genealogy" deck to reflect the Pacific region? Hmmm!

Yes I will definitely be joining you. Will be great to have something in our time zone
THAT was precisely the idea. 🥰
This is very exciting. Pondering a topic to submit. I love the focus on places for a change from my usual focus on people....
