Announcing: “Emma Explores: Stories, Mysteries and Fame” with Emma Cox
Starting on June 20, we'll be launching a special new series of free events featuring genealogist, author and podcaster Emma Cox. A genealogy pro shows us how to make our family stories interesting.
Join us on Thursday, June 20, at 10 AM PT, 1 PM ET, 6 PM BST, and 19:00 CET for the first in an extraordinary series from Projectkin:
Our collaboration with Emma Cox began when she interviewed us about Projectkin for her podcast, Journeys Into Genealogy. Soon, we started trading introductions and comparing notes. Then, in March, Emma graciously joined in on the launch of the Members’ Corner with “Mystery: Where is Albert Place, London?” The post shared the story of her hunt for the London home of her great-grandfather Horace Aubrey Cox.
As a professional, Emma routinely explores archives, churchyards, and online records to compile genealogical studies for her clients. Her training and experience have rewarded her with a very specialized set of skills that she also applies to her own family history.
With years of client experience, Emma has learned to engage her family creatively. In this Projectkin series, she will share reliable story hooks, curiosities, and fun strategies. These creative ideas are at the heart of her new monthly series. See the latest in the Event Calendar here.
Turning historical facts into compelling stories is an exceptional talent we don’t talk about enough.
This approach can turn birth and death dates into compelling stories that pull audiences down rabbit holes of family history. Like our popular Kathy’s Corner talks, Emma brings her professional expertise to the very practical challenges of a family collection.

How exciting! For people who can't make the zoom event, do you publish the transcripts? Perhaps charge a little for them?
